Wikinomics: A 50 minute youtube video.

(I REALLY didn’t know youtube videos could run that long.)

A new blog is created every second of the day. Well, according to this video, that statistic held true about a year ago. Perhaps, today, a new blog is created every millisecond.

Today, we can create a community with international members and international access in just a few seconds.

Mass collaboration + Google + Viacom = Googlecom.

Dan Tapscott’s neighbor is a billionaire.

I wish I was Dan Tapscott’s neighbor.

There is a recurring theme in mass collaboration. It’s the theme of the strength of collective knowledge. The ailment, however, the weakness of collective knowledge. And, the glitches in collective knowledge.  And, the “village idiots” in collective knowledge. And, the just-plain-faltered human knowledge. Damn, I’m trying to give mass collaboration credit, because I really like the idea. But, c’mon now. People are stupid. Gosh, that makes me sound so self-righteous. I will rephrase that by saying that people can be stupid. Still too harsh?

Well, collective knowledge can be good and it can be evil -as hell. Examples: People followed Martin Luther King, Jr., Ghandi, and Mother Teresa. And, people followed Hilter, Stalin, and Saddam Hussein. Enough said.

With mass collaboration, we can learn bunches from one another. But, who is most right? Most credible? Most reliable? Most truthful?
